IoTeX Project Updates #17 — July 26 — September 2, 2019
Greetings everyone! We are back with our Project Update Report №17 for 07/26–09/02 period. We have been continuing to work around the clock on our code in preparation for the upcoming Mainnet Beta launch, release of our own in-house trusted hardware products and a new roadmap. We have also continued to share our vision and communicated with our and external communities via AMA’s, which you can review at the end of this blog.
Tech & Development
As a company at the forefront of innovation, IoTeX is constantly refining its near-term/long-term vision to sequence the work in the most effective manner. We are proud to share the future of IoTeX with an overview of the IoTeX Platform and launch calendar for 2019–2020.
IoTeX is more than just blockchain. It is a decentralized IoT platform that combines blockchain, secure hardware, and data services components. Each component plays a unique and crucial role in the IoTeX Network, ultimately coming together to form unique foundational products for developers — decentralized identity (DID), trusted data oracles, trusted computing, and IoT data marketplaces — which apply to all IoT use cases.

Mainnet Alpha continues to run smoothly after four months!
- Getting close to 2 billion IOTX staked/voted (~50% of total circulating supply!)
- >1.2 million transactions on IoTeX Mainnet and 2,750 epochs reached
- 55+ Delegates from 15+ countries (and growing)
- Successful expansion to 36 Consensus Delegates in July after network-wide vote
- New software update v0.7.3 is now available for Mainnet (optional upgrade)
- Welcome our newest Delegates: Hashquark, Hofan Crypto Capital, Hotbit Exchange, Link, PNP, Real Satoshi & IOSG, Core-Dev
- New Delegates coming: Kucoin, Huobi Wallet, RockX, Nodeasy, and more!
Mainnet Beta — Target launch date: Sep 2019
Major features:
- EVM upgrade w/support of solidity 0.5.x
- Transaction confirmation latency improvement
- Chain analytics
- Cross-chain asset transfer
- Separation of indexing/API from full node
- Optimization of storage and sync processes
Other blockchain initiatives:
- Continuous improvements to Explorer, SDKs, Codelabs, Documentation
- Integration with other infra, such as Chainlink, NUSD and naming services
- Mobile Wallets (Android/iOS)
Delegate of the Month (DOTM) Voting via Smart Contract
As we shared in our latest post, IoTeX is launching the Delegate Badges Program to make Delegate contributions, achievements, and commitments more transparent to the IoTeX community. The top 5 voted Delegates will be named DOTM. Each DOTM will receive 5 million votes from IoTeX Foundation + top placement on member.iotex.io for one month, as well as a permanent DOTM badge on their voting profile.
We are proud to share the results of the first DOTM vote. The IoTeX community has spoken, and here are the top voted Delegates (including a 4-way tie for 5th place!):
The next DOTM vote will begin at the end of September, covering the months of August and September. Until then, be sure to stay up to date on all Delegates and follow our official channels for more announcements!
