Introducing IoTeX Mainnet v1.3, the next evolution of the IoTeX blockchain! Mainnet v1.3 is now LIVE as of block height 12,289,321 — thanks to our global network of Delegates that have upgraded their nodes to the best version of iotex-core yet.

This major network upgrade brings the latest EVM Istanbul to IoTeX and supports all Web3 DApps with minimized gas costs for storage + zk-SNARKs computations. Mainnet v1.3 complements the full Web3-compatibility introduced via Mainnet v1.2 in June 2021. Together, IoTeX is now one of the most robust, flexible, and user/dev-friendly blockchains in the industry.

To fuel the next generation of blockchain developers, IoTeX was a proud sponsor of the Gitcoin Grants Round 10 (GR10) Hackathon, which ran from June 16 to July 7. To kick things off, the IoTeX core team hosted a developer webinar on “Building on IoTeX with Web3”. Throughout the hackathon, we had the pleasure of working with 20+ developer teams that built great tools, dashboards, and Dapps on the Web3-compatible IoTeX platform!

Pebble Tracker is the latest “Powered by IoTeX” device that provides verifiable proof of real world events to the IoTeX blockchain. Equipped with tamper-proof hardware and GPS, climate, motion, and light sensors, Pebble Tracker is a first-of-its-kind product that will empower the first physical/digital if-this-then-that (IFTTT) contracts— if something happens in the real world (and you can prove it to the blockchain), then trigger customizable commands via smart contract.

To kick things off, we will host a special IoTeX x Gitcoin developer webinar on Monday, June 21 at 12pm PT with the IoTeX core dev team, where we will deliver a hands-on demo of “Building on…

ioTube cross-chain bridge now supports two-way token swaps between IoTeX and Polygon, Ethereum, BSC → tube.iotex.io.

ioTube v4 is IoTeX’s decentralized cross-chain bridge that enables bi-directional token swaps between IoTeX and Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and now Polygon (Matic)! Starting now, Polygon tokens can live on IoTeX and IoTeX tokens can live on Polygon! We are excited to take this major leap in expanding the footprint of IoTeX to Polygon, one of the fastest growing blockchain networks in the world, to broaden the utility of IOTX + XRC20 tokens and bring new liquidity to the IoTeX Network.

Adding Polygon support…

IoTeX is excited to partner with Travala.com, the world’s leading cryptocurrency-friendly online travel agency backed by Binance, to integrate IOTX as a payment option on the Travala platform. Through our partnership, holders of IOTX will be able to participate in a cheaper, fairer, and more inclusive travel economy alongside leading cryptocurrency assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Travala’s AVA token. Additionally, IoTeX will use…

The Department of the US Navy has awarded Consensus Networks a $1.5M contract for HealthNet, a blockchain-enabled logistics tool targeted at medical supply chains. HealthNet will leverage IoTeX technology, including Pebble Tracker and Decentralized Identity (DID), to secure data across medical supply chains and ensure the US Navy is utilizing the most trusted information to manage their medical inventory at home and abroad.

Consensus Networks began their journey in the IoTeX Network as one of our original Delegates in April 2019. We admire their passion for Blockchain & IoT and are proud to support them as they take their next…

Today is a big day for the IoTeX Network — Mainnet v1.2 is officially LIVE! This is not just your typical code upgrade. Mainnet v1.2 introduces paradigm-shifting capabilities that will activate a Cambrian Explosion of new DApps, tokens, and protocols on the IoTeX Network. Just as the Cambrian Explosion birthed the world’s first advanced organisms over 500 million years ago, Mainnet v1.2 will spark IoTeX’s largest wave of innovation yet and cement our position as an indispensable hub for the decentralized economy.

Dr. Xinxin Fan, Head of Cryptography at IoTeX, has been appointed Vice Chair of the IEEE P2418.1 Standard for “Framework of Blockchain Use in Internet of Things (IoT)”. This new effort brings together experts comprising academic researchers, startups, and enterprises to develop a universal standard that “provides a common framework for blockchain usage, implementation, and interaction with the Internet of Things (IoT)” and will address the “security and privacy challenges with regards to Blockchain in IoT” across both permissioned and permissionless blockchains.

IoTeX’s Vice Chair role was elected by other IEEE standards committee members — a great honor! — and…
